What Is a Realtor?

Fun fact: The difference between a “real estate agent” and a “realtor” is that a realtor is a registered member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), and upholds their ethics and values, whereas anybody with a license can be a “real estate agent.” A realtor can be called a real estate agent, but somebody who is licensed but not a registered member of NAR cannot call themselves a realtor.

A Friend

First and foremost, your agent should become like family. We want to be somebody you trust, like, and enjoy buying and selling with. This is why I always recommend first meeting up to talk about your needs before we get to work. It allows us to grab coffee or speak freely in the office and get comfortable with each other while we discuss what you’re looking for, how soon you want to buy/sell, and how quickly you need it all done.

a Leader

You should be able to ask your agent questions, voice your concerns to them, and feel confident in their leadership throughout the entire process. We believe it’s best to answer questions honestly, be confident in our every move, and anticipate your needs before you do. But at the end of it all, good communication is key. As the buyer or seller, you ultimately make all decisions; we simply help you do it the best (and most legal) way possible.

A Source of Knowledge

As realtors, we don’t just show houses. We know the ins and outs of every city, neighborhood, and school zone in the area. You should always feel comfortable asking us questions, speaking openly and honestly about houses and neighborhoods, and helping us make sure you’re getting exactly what you want. Our wealth of knowledge is there to guide, support, and lead you, and we’re happy to do so!
